The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has launched a global initiative to effectively thwart the global threat of counterfeiting and piracy on the U.S. economy, the global business community, and consumers through a two-part strategy of education and increased detection and enforcement - the Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy (CACP). The CACP is a coalition of over 235 businesses and associations committed to increasing the understanding of the negative impact of counterfeiting and piracy to health, safety, and the economy. The purpose of the International Task Force is to bring industry together to work with the U.S. and foreign governments to increase the amount of resources and attention paid to international anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy initiatives.

The CACP initiated a new 'Global Intellectual Property Center' which has an increased focus on innovation and the link with economic development with an added emphasis on the importance of protecting 'innovative industries. We would like to encourage all of interested Member to visit this valuable source of information.
