Coalition for Innovation, Employment and Development (CIED) CIED is an initiative committed to championing the role of innovation in driving job creation and developing breakthrough solutions to global challenges. This internationally diverse group is working to bring industry, labor, consumer and environmental groups together to address challenges ranging from health care and renewable energy, to climate change and other various issues. CIED was launched in the U.S. on May 20th in Washington, DC. A European launch just took place on July 13th in Geneva. This is an international effort since these issues are of a global perspective. CIED is presently focusing on the upcoming international climate negotiations that will take place in Copenhagen in December of this year. It is imperative that IP is protected in any climate change agreement. More information can be found at www.ideasforinnovation.org
