Open Agriculture Committee Meeting

The Meeting will be dedicated to the presentation of the International Finance Corporation project "Agri-Insurance Law in Verkhovna Rada, Its Need, and Expected Benefits" and to the discussion of the recent agro-insurance legislation, namely the Draft Law #5063 “On Peculiarities of Insurance of Agricultural Production with the State Financial Support”. As you might remember the named Draft Law was developed by the people’s deputy Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and has been adopted in the first reading on October 21st, 2009.
The participants of the Meeting will have an opportunity to participate in the dispute session on the above-mentioned agro-insurance legislation which has been revised by the IFC and will be presented to the Chamber Membership by the experts Mr. Gary Reusche, Project Manager, Serhiy Khoruzhy, Analyst, Ms. Natalia Ilina, Institution Development Officer and Ms. Maryna Zarytska, Public Education Specialist.
The International Finance Corporation in consultation with the insurance associations, the regulator and farmer organizations has developed the proposals for amending the Draft Law #5063 which is now ready for the second reading at the Parliament.
