On Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 the Chamber in conjunction with the Radisson SAS Hotel's management was glad to host the Healthcare Market Leaders Breakfastwhich took place at the Mille Miglia Restaurant of the Radisson SAS Hotel.
The "Healthcare Market Leaders Breakfast" was aimed to gather CEOs of the pharmaceutical companies and the Chamber Policy Team to exchange information on a variety of issues that are currently impacting their businesses, to outline the future business planning models as well as to discuss and agree on the priority issues to be addressed throughout 2010.
Questions that were discussed among business leaders included but were not limited to:
Clinical Trials in Ukraine: actual problems and necessary measures;
Necessary additional measures in the sphere of IPR protection;
Efficient ways of open co-operation of the Western pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies through the Chamber with Ukrainian authorities as well as other industry based associations to push the Policy Agenda forward;
Public Reimbursement System of Ukraine: possible ways of development on the basis of US/European experience.
All participants shared thoughts and ideas on the above mentioned issues as well as other topics that were relevant.

Agenda:
The main intention of the meeting is to discuss and work out a joint Committee Members position towards provisions of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine #1335 dated December 8, 2009 regarding the ban of state purchases from intermediaries. Since the Resolution imposes serious threats to business of all international vendors that sell their products and/or services through local partners, your professional commentary and feedback would be highly appreciated.

Mission Statement
The Chamber Healthcare (Pharmaceutical) Committee has been operating since February 1998. The Committee works in close liaison with the US Embassy Commercial Department.
The main objectives are to improve the Ukraine’s business environment in the pharmaceutical field, exchange of information, organizing discussions and taking joint actions aimed to promote the commercial interests of Chamber Member pharmaceutical companies.
Included among the problems the Committee is dealing with, are registration and licensing procedures and an entire spectrum of issues arising from these two: Ukrainian legislation base - a set of laws and provisions regulating the registration procedures for the companies - and licensing for the wholesalers.
