Agenda:

On Wednesday, March 10^th, the Chamber HR Committee hosted another Knowledge Seminar on “Recruiting and Talent Management” organized jointly with the Chamber Member Companies TZ Partners and MTS.

The Meeting gathered plenty of Human Resource managers who had a bright opportunity to learn some best practices of effective Human Capital Management processes in order to attract, retain, and develop the best talent and achieve competitive advantage and business success.

The first part of the Seminar outlined the general issues of Talent Management and E-recruiting, focusing on nine steps to successful hiring and performance management, tying performance to compensation, getting best organizational charts, presented by Ms. Julia Gladkova, TZ-Partner.

The speaker defined Talent Management as a process of attraction and adaptation of new employees, developing and retaining existing and attracting the best talent.

Ms. Gladkova stressed that companies with plans for its employees, receive twice as much profit from one employee than companies without an integrated management system capable staff.

The second part of the Seminar will be devoted to practical recommendations and successful business case on implementing e-recruiting solution presented by Mr. Oleg Lomakovsky, MTS.

Basically, the main goals and objectives for implementing the e-recruiting tool were defined as follows:

• Improving the quality of candidates;
• Implementing a proactive systemic approach to the selection of personnel (preventive Recruitment);
• Reduce time and financial costs;
• Optimization of the selection process;
• The transition from paper to an automated recruitment process (increase in productivity / efficiency of the process);
• Setting reporting performance of the selection process;
• Access to the experience of successful foreign companies;
• Increased transparency in the process of recruitment for internal and external candidates.

Agenda:

On February 23, 2010 the Chamber HR Committee held an Open HR Committee Meeting which was devoted to the discussion of the draft General Agreement 2010 - 2012 between employers and trade unions.

The main speaker Mariana Marchuk, Associate at Baker & McKenzie - CIS, Limited, has provided her comments on certain provisions of the draft General Agreement for 2010-2012. 

These provisions could have impact on the freedom of companies to conduct their businesses solely as directed by their governing bodies or which may have financial impact on them.  As worded in the draft, these provisions go beyond the requirements of the current applicable Ukrainian legislation as regards employer's obligations. Therefore, each relevant clause should be deleted/amended to deprive it of its imperative force in the draft. 

As a result of the discussion, participants agreed to create a Working Group in order to consolidate employers’ position regarding the draft General Agreement 2010 - 2012 between employers and trade unions.
