IPR Working Group Meeting on Cybersecurity Issues
On July 3, the Chamber held regular meeting of its IPR Working Group Meeting on cybersecurity issues. The meeting was devoted to discussing the legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening of cybersecurity of Ukraine, in particular:
- Draft Law #2126a “On Basic Principles of Ensuring the Cybersecurity of Ukraine”;
- Draft Law #2133a “On Amending Several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Strengthening of Responsibility over the Impediments in the Sphere of Informational Security and Combating Cybersecurity”;
- Draft Law “On Cybersecurity of Ukraine” prepared by Public Organization “ISACA”.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Alexey Yankovskiy, representative of ISACA, which delivered a presentation on ISACA activity and main principles of cybersecurity in Ukraine and other states. He mentioned that ISACA deliberately considered Draft Law #2126a. Mr. Yankovskiy highlighted the cooperation of ISACA with State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (DSTSZI). The presentation resembled the risks related to the low level of cybersecurity for the Members. The representatives of DSTSZI and People’s Deputies’ assistants took part in the meeting.
Upon the meeting the Members agreed to prepare Draft Chamber Letter with a request to responsible VRU Committee to recall Draft Laws #2126a and #2133a.
