On December 17, the Chamber hosted the meeting with Serhiy Petukhov and Gia Getsadze, Deputies to the Minister of Justice of Ukraine devoted to the Future of Commercial Code of Ukraine. 

Opening the meeting, Tetyana Prokopchuk, Chamber Vice President of Policy highlighted the importance of proper regulation of business operations for improvement of business climate in Ukraine.

On December 17, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Ukraine co-organized a Round Table "Ukraine on the Move to Improvements: Protection of the Rights for Plant Varieties". The event was aimed to discuss the current situation in the sphere of intellectual property rights protection in the sphere of seeds and plant varieties as well as get acquainted with the system of registration, protection and enforcement of plant variety protection (PVP) in the EU Member-States. 

On December 16, the Chamber Members met with Roman Nasirov, Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, Sergiy Bilan, First Deputy Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, and the leadership of certain departments of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS). 

The meeting was devoted to discussion of the practical issues of process of tax administration. 

On December 15, the Chamber held a meeting with Nazar Kholodnytskyi, Deputy General Prosecutor of Ukraine – Head of Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office – one of the key bodies, responsible for combating corruption in Ukraine. 

Chamber held the Chamber Round Table "Best European Practices on Creation of Waste Management System". The Round Table has been focused on discussion of European experience of creation of post-consumer waste management system based on the principle of extended producers’ responsibility. 

We invited all interested Members to the meeting with representatives of the National Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets in Ukraine (NCRFSM).

The meeting has been devoted to the discussion of implementation of the Strategy and Action Plan for development of the factoring market, proposed by the Chamber.

On December 10, the Chamber held an exclusive meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatthighlighting U.S.-Ukrainian bilateral economic and political relations, GoU reform progress, USG support, current challenges and areas of opportunity.  

On December 10 the Chamber held a meeting with Mr. Volodymyr Lapa, First Deputy Head of the State Service on Safety of Foodstuffs and Consumer Protection. 

Discussion was focused on the following issues:

  1. Maintenance of the competent body status in relation to the new State Service on Safety of Foodstuffs and Consumer Protection.
  2. Timeframes of delegation of powers from State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service to State Service on Safety of Foodstuffs and Consumer Protection...

Chamber held the Meeting devoted to presentation of “Overview of European Cybersecurity Implementation”

The discussion has been focused on outlining main points of the document, providing recommendations and facilitating discussion on Cybersecurity in Ukraine and presented by representatives of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). ISACA presented Ukrainian translation of the document which is the first Cybersecurity guideline available in Ukrainian. 

On December 7, Chamber President Andy Hunder participated in Sustainable Resource Management Forum devoted to the implementation of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and its first EITI report.

Mr. Hunder spoke at the panel discussion devoted to Fostering of Private Investment in the Oil and Gas Sector and focused on stressing the importance of the Oil and Gas sector in Ukraine. He highlighted that investors were seeking improvement of current conditions, and some important steps were accomplished by the Government: the governmental institutions show openness and readiness to cooperate with business. On the other hand, it is necessary to speed up the process of reforms, as well as to actively and consistently communicate the changes and outcomes both to businesses already investing in Ukraine, and to the international community, which could invest in Ukraine tomorrow.

On December 4, the Chamber held a Presentation of the promo-video on Tourism Potential of Ukraine with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. 

Ms. Yuliia Kovaliv, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, assured that tourism reform and development in Ukraine are one of main factors of economic growth. 

Chamber held the Meeting with MP Taras Kutoviy, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations and MP Ivan Miroshnichenko, Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. 

Discussion has been focused on the current issues in agricultural, seeds, grain, land, phytosanitary, and food safety spheres.
