On February 23, the Chamber held a meeting with Yuriy Terentyev, Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU).
The meeting was focused on the strategic document, prepared by the Chamber Antimonopoly Working Group – Chamber Antimonopoly Roadmap. The document consists of issues business faces in the main areas of AMCU functioning, such as control over concentrations, investigations of violations of the legislation on protection of economic competition, anti-competitive actions of the public bodies, and other issues, as well as proposed solutions for these issues.
In his opening remarks, Yuriy Terentyev highlighted that he supports 99% of the proposals of the Chamber. He also highlighted that the AMCU is currently in the process of analyzing gaps in current legislation in comparison to the European legislation.
In a course of the discussion issues of particular industries, such as transportation and telecom, were raised. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold separate meetings with the representatives of particular industries.
