The American Chamber of Commerce remains committed to working with the President and his team, through the Domestic and Foreign Investment Advisory Council, to accelerate reforms, attract and retain investment and create a more competitive economy based on free market principles that will benefit Ukraine and her people.

On Wednesday, June 16, the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine in conjunction with the World Economic Forum's Community of Global Growth Companies was pleased to hold the Round Table "Competitiveness and Trends-What the Future Holds for Business in Post-Election Ukraine".

On Tuesday, June 15th the Chamber together with the Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Iryna Akimova conducted a joint press conference “Partnership for Successfully Competing in the Global Economy and State Program for Economic Reform 2010 – 2014 – Many Synergy between both Reform Plans”.

The VI Forum of Yalta European Strategy (YES), the largest informal forum on strategic relations of Ukraine and the world, was held on September 25th and 26th. The key topic of the Yalta European Strategy in 2009 was the post-crisis development of Ukraine and the world. This year more than 200 representatives of business and political elite, experts, journalists form more than 20 countries attended the Forum.

On October 1st the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Mr. Jorge Zukoski took part in the opening plenary session at the IX Lviv International Economic Forum.

On September 1, 2009 the Chamber held a press-conference devoted to the “New Requirements for Importers: Consequences of the Recent Government’s Decisions” discussing Resolution #915 dated June 26, 2001 “On Implementation of the System of Collecting, Sorting, Transportation, Recycling and Utilization of Wastes as Secondary Raw Materials”.

Chamber Member Microsoft Ukraine and Chamber Partner business weekly magazine "Expert Ukraine" held an Innovation Forum that focused on the importance of innovative activities for both the public and private sectors. The proper protection of intellectual property rights as a key driver for innovations was also highlighted during the forum.

The Chamber continues to work together with Adam Smith Conferences and supporting their numerous successful events both inside and outside of Ukraine.

The Chamber was pleased to support the Crisis Management in Ukraine Forum "Strategies for effective corporate leadership in turbulent times", which was organized by a long term partner of the Chamber -  Adam Smith Conferences.

The American Chamber of Commerce participated in a roundtable chaired by Deputy Minister of Economy, Anatoliy Maksyuta, discussing different aspects of cooperation and communication between Ukrainian State authorities and representatives of the private investment community aimed to strengthen Ukraine’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.
