Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine updated the participants that within the next few weeks the Service will prepare relevant legislative framework and launch software system that will exclude participation of customs officers in the customs clearance procedures.

Mr. Pyatnytskiy highlighted current developments in negotiations on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between European Union and Ukraine. Currently the Agreement is being prepared for initialing and practically all important issues have been finalized.

Highlighting current developments in the political and economic sphere here in Ukraine Ambassador Tefft, among other things, touched upon the impact of the Tymoshenko case on the international positioning of Ukraine, business issues that have been brought to his attention and the latest macroeconomic indicators.

Mr. Oleksiy Pshenychka, First Deputy Head of the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumers Rights Protection, discussed recent developments in the State Technical Regulation Service of Ukraine caused by administrative reform, their future impact on technical regulation and consumer protection policy in the country as well as highlighted the priorities of the the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumers Rights Protection activity.

The Chamber has jointly conducted the Round Table with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine devoted to the discussion of the upcoming changes in legislation on the immigration issues, in particular on new procedures regarding obtaining visa/work permits for foreigners.

On Wednesday, August 31 the Chamber was pleased to hold an “In-Focus” Meeting with Mr. Volodymyr Gorzheev, First Deputy Head of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine, Deputy Senior Inspector of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine.

On Tuesday, July 5^th, 2011 the Chamber held an In-Focus Meeting with Mr. Yuriy Kravchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. 

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss recommended solutions to the issues of major concern to the international business community that are stifling additional investment into this important sector of Ukraine’s economy.

The Chamber held an In-Focus meeting with Mr. Valeriy Pyatnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, one of Ukraine’s principal negotiators on the issues of European integration and cooperation with the World Trade Organization.

The Chamber hosted "In-Focus" Meeting with Mr. Oleksandr Yefremov, Chairman of the Faction, and the key People's Deputies of the Party of Regions in the Verkhovna Rada.

Mr. Kaletnik together with his team engaged in active and focused dialog and highlighted the prospects of customs development in Ukraine as well as covered aspects of the customs control and clearance of goods during Chamber Members' foreign economic activity.

Mr. Vitaliy Zakharchenko has agreed to engage in an active and focused dialog with Chamber Members and highlight current issues within the sphere of the activities of the State Tax Service.

The Chamber has invited experts with a variety of backgrounds and orientations to provide a well rounded discussion including Mr. Kost Bondarenko, Mr. Vadym Karasiov, Mr. Vitaliy Portnikov, and Mr. Andriy Yermolaev.

Continuing the active working dialog with senior state officials to communicate our policy agenda for the benefit of our Membership, the Chamber hosted the Chamber "In-Focus" Meeting with First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Mr. Volodymyr Korniyenko.
